Churchville Youth Rec Wrestling Receives R.E.A.C.H.E.S. Grant

Churchville Wrestling in Churchville, Maryland has been awarded funding from the R.E.A.C.H.E.S. organization to obtain singlets and headgear to launch our brand new youth wrestling program during the 2021-2022 season.  The Churchville rec has never had a youth wrestling program and there was a strong desire to build something new for the community.  Our inaugural season consisted of a skills and development team for 4-8 year olds.  We will use this to build upon the program and grow the team for next season as we construct our competitive team.

This youth program will eventually be a feeder program to a number of high schools in the region and will fill a large gap in the youth rec wrestling landscape where there was a lack of opportunity.  This extremely generous gift will support the team for many years to come and launch us into solid financial footing to grow upon.  Eventually we will be able to support a developmental team as well as a competitive team with an age range of 4-14 years old.

We cannot thank R.E.A.C.H.E.S. and Walter Fisk enough for awarding us this grant and bringing youth wrestling to Churchville!
