Zanesville Wrestling gets R.E.A.C.H.E.S. Funding
Zanesville Wrestling in Zanesville, Ohio has been awarded funding from the R.E.A.C.H.E.S. organization to get singlets and headgear to launch our youth wrestling program during the 2019-2020 season. Wrestling was dropped as a school sports 30+ years ago as a school sponsored sport. It was reinstated a decade ago and several attempts have been made to start a youth program for the elementary level wrestlers in Zanesville. These efforts have come and gone. With the hiring of a new high school wrestling coach at Zanesville High School, the desire to grow the program is at an all-time high and nothing grows a high school program like a solid youth program. The R.E.A.C.H.E.S. grant has allowed us to purchase new singlets and headgear to help get the program off on the right foot here in Zanesville. We are excited to get started and cannot thank R.E.A.C.H.E.S. enough for the funding to do just that,” said Coach Dalton. The youth program will focus on students in grade four through six with an emphasis on learning fundamentals that will carry over when they reach middle school. We would like to thank R.E.A.C.H.E.S. and Walter Fisk for awarding us this grant and bringing youth wrestling back to Zanesville.
