Springfield, MO – The Terminator Wrestling Academy in Springfield, MO receives a donation of wrestling singlets from R.E.A.C.H.E.S.
To ensure the continuous growth of TWA’s wrestling program R.E.A.C.H.E.S. graciously donated several youth and adult Brute Wrestling singlets. These singlets will allow current and future members of TWA to practice and compete in the technically superior apparel that is offered by Brute Wrestling.
Terminator Wrestling Academy (“TWA”) was started in 2009 by Coach Rueben Wait to give his athletes a better opportunity to learn wrestling skills and to provide the experience necessary for high school and college level competition. Coach Wait has coached and run wrestling programs for 9 years. TWA travels throughout Missouri and nationally competing in the toughest tournaments offered.
TWA offers year round training for wrestlers of all ages. Wrestlers compete in a five-month Folkstyle season from November through March. Immediately following that season is a three-month Freestyle and Greco-Roman season. The remaining four months are used for Folkstyle training and strength and conditioning.
TWA’s sanctioning body is Missouri USA Wrestling. TWA is a ministry of The Catalyst in Springfield, MO. TWA offers a scholarship program for children interested in the sport, but from a family that can’t fit the program into their budgets. We often provide the wrestler with shoes, headgear, and/or a singlet to compete in allowing even those less fortunate children to still experience the amazing sport of wrestling. Our team also has parents who help coach the kids both in the practice room and at competition. Being a part of TWA is a different kind of family in itself, we all work together to achieve success for the wrestlers.
Wrestling is different from other youth sports and requires a very knowledgeable coach, and a great workout partner or two in order to have success at a high level. TWA covers wrestling from top to bottom. Nutrition, hydration, grades, attitude, work ethic, technique/skill, mat and match presence, pre match warm ups and thoughts, scouting opponents, listening to coaches when wrestling, and many other elements are necessary for success. We not only teach wrestling moves, we teach the sport of wrestling as a whole.
TWA’s goal is to offer everything wrestlers will need at one location and offer them a no-nonsense, uninterrupted training opportunity year round. Those wrestlers who desire to be champions must make a commitment to excellence that distinguishes them from the average competitor. Athletic excellence requires consistency, dedicated training, willingness to sacrifice, unwavering discipline and a relentless pursuit to be the best – not just during the season, but year round.
Receiving these products has left Coach Wait and his athletes overjoyed. TWA joins the long list of ambassadors that spread the word nationally that R.E.A.C.H.E.S. is here to support wrestling and requests sent to them never go ignored.

ABOUT BRUTE WRESTLING
Brute Wrestling was founded in 1967, in Virginia, by retired U.S. Navy Captain Josiah Henson. Captain Henson was an Olympic bronze medalist in Freestyle wrestling in 1952 and the first American wrestler to beat a Russian at the Olympics. The company began as the first wrestling mail order business. John Purnell joined the company in 1975 and in 1977 became the President and majority owner. Shortly thereafter, Purnell moved the company to Reading, Pennsylvania to begin manufacturing wrestling uniforms under the brand name Brute Wrestling. At that time, the company began distributing through a network of sporting goods dealers. In 1989, a line of soccer uniforms was added under the name Liga Soccer. In 2003, the company product line was expanded to include custom uniforms for volleyball, softball and basketball under the brand name NeuEdge Sportswear. NeuEdge Sportswear quickly became one of the leading producers of custom sublimated team uniforms in the country. In 2010, Henson Group launched a lacrosse and field hockey line under the brand Evolve Team Sportswear. Today Henson Group Sports provides a complete line of top quality wrestling, lacrosse, softball, basketball and volleyball products and apparel to sporting goods dealers; amateur and professional athletic clubs and teams; and other buyers all over North America.
