Omaha North High School Grateful for Grant
The $5,000 R.E.A.C.H.E.S. grant supported purchasing uniforms, warmups, headgear, bags, and miscellaneous items for the Omaha North High boys and girls wrestling teams. Omaha North High School serves students from historically underrepresented neighborhoods in Omaha, Nebraska. Wrestling is a point of passion for many in the community and serves as an outlet for young people, many of who live in a low-income high-poverty environment. The boys’ program is one of the best in Nebraska history but still has high financial need. The girls are beginning their third year and look to add their own state title to the trophy case for the Omaha North Vikings. The R.E.A.C.H.E.S. grant has tremendously helped build the new girls’ program into a state title contender while continuing to honor the legacy of the boys and ensure they stay at the top. Thank you R.E.A.C.H.E.S!
