New Breed Wrestling gets R.E.A.C.H.E.S Funding
The Chagolla Foundation in Camp Verde, Arizona has been awarded funding from the R.E.A.C.H.E.S organization to get equipment for the New Breed Wrestling Program. Since it’s inception in 2006, The Chagolla Foundation has provided a continuum of care during the school season and summer months while offering opportunities for hundreds of youth at risk to develop and sustain enriching and healthy lifestyle activities that will divert them from negative behaviors. We provide creative and recreational outlets while fostering personal development and life-long learning. We assist kids to establish goals and overcome challenges. We have intervened to help Grandparents,( who now in the twilight of their years find themselves raising kids again).
When Coach Chagolla understood and obeyed the Lord’s calling many years ago, his life and the lives of his athletes changed. The lost, the fatherless, the motherless, the misunderstood, those who lacked talent and those without a support system all began to improve. The circumstances in their lives didn’t change, but their attitudes and their hope for the future did. And they began to win. In the programs 14 year history, they have helped produce 14 Regional Team Championships, 9 Team State Championships and 45 individual State Championship titles.
“I applied for the R.E.A.C.H.E.S grant to help get the Wrestling team the quality gear that only those financially blessed could afford and would be proud to wear. This is a great honor and I was very excited about the opportunity,” said Coach Chagolla. The grant money will be used to get Knee pads, travel bags, headgear and wrestling shoes for the Wrestling Program for the High School, Junior High, and Club.
The Chagolla Foundation would like to thank R.E.A.C.H.E.S and Walter Fisk for the opportunity to get this grant. We would like to thank everyone at R.E.A.C.H.E.S for all that you have done for the sport of Wrestling. They not only serve as mentors but provide all this support (behind the scenes) at no personal gain. Their community service empowers both adults and children alike to be successful in life and help create opportunities for our kids to achieve their dreams. They are people with a vision of a better tomorrow, for the kids in our community.
