Joppatowne Youth Rec Wrestling Receives R.E.A.C.H.E.S. Grant

Joppatowne Wrestling in Joppatowne, Maryland has been awarded funding from the R.E.A.C.H.E.S. organization to obtain singlets to relaunch our youth wrestling program during the 2022-2023 season. The Joppatowne rec team has been dormant for many years and there was a strong desire to rebuild the team for the community.  Our season consists of first year wrestlers in a skills and development team for 5–14-year old’s.  We will use this to build upon the program and grow the team for next season as we strive towards a competitive team.

This youth program will fill a large gap in the youth rec wrestling landscape where there was a lack of opportunity.  We are even planning on creating a summer camp for wrestling to build upon this.  R.E.A.C.H.E.S. extremely generous gift will support the program for many years to come and launch us into solid financial footing to grow upon.  Eventually we will be able to support a developmental team as well as a competitive team.

We cannot thank R.E.A.C.H.E.S. and Walter Fisk enough for awarding us this grant and bringing youth wrestling back to Joppatowne!
