Brute Donates 4,000 Gear Bags to Beat The Streets Wrestling Program

Brute Wrestling through its Non-Profit charity “REACHES,” has donated 4000 GEAR BAGS to the Beat the Streets USA Program.

R.E.A.C.H.E.S. (Rewarding Educational Athletic Choices Helping Each Sport) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2007 in an effort to promote, protect and preserve amateur athletics in its truest form. R.E.A.C.H.E.S. provides athletic opportunities to athletes of all ages and abilities in a unique environment with the profits of each event earmarked for specific needs in that sport.

John Purnell, President of Brute Wrestling, through Brute’s Non-Profit Organization has once again donated to the Beat the Streets USA program. In 2011, REACHES donated $150,000 of singlets, earguards and wrestling shoes to the program and now another $48,000 of Brute Gear bags that will be logoed with REACHES and BEAT THE STREETS. “There is no better sport than wrestling, or better program that Beat the Streets, to help build strong future citizens. As Americans, it is our obligation as a major player in the wrestling community to give back” states John Purnell.

Al Bevilacqua is Chairman of Beat the Streets USA that began in 2004 as model program for the expansion and growth of wrestling in America largest cities. “We are very thankful for John Purnell and Brute Wrestling who has consistently been with us since we began the program in 2005,” says Bevilacqua.

The largest portion of each city’s budget is the basic equipment required for each boy and girl we enroll in the well-designed after school program that teaches life skills to at risk kids.

“A wrestling mat, a pair of wrestling shoes, earguards, singlets, t-shirts and shorts transforms kids through discipline, structure and inspiration by their professional teachers/coaches. After school programs are merely extensions of the school day. It truly is a great activity for kids,” Bevilacqua stated.
